First Things First 

What Else We Expect and Require From You

  • Promote the challenge through all of your means during the launch using the materials we provided:
    1. email templates
    2. social media
    3. press release
    4. any other means you see fit
  • Share the video during the Launch-Day!
  • Get at least two of the most famous people you know (celebrities, luminaries, leaders, personalities) to do a video taking the challenge to share and spread the challenge in their networks.
  • Please repost our social media postings as often as you can to create more buzz!

Many organizations will choose to participate on a grander scale producing many videos and enrolling many celebrities in the challenge.

Important Notes

  • Join our OPTIONAL Conference Calls – every few weeks we will host a call for sharing info, Q&A and for co-creating strategies for activating your networks. (It will be recorded and the link will be shared on the Private Facebook group for benefiting nonprofits).
  • Make sure your website and email systems are ready for a lot of traffic.
  • Please use our webpage www.roflchallenge.org as a guide and please don’t use any other information specific to the challenge on your webpage that we don’t have on our website. We will inform you of any updates on our website via the Facebook Closed group.
  • As there might be possibilities of negative attacks on social media (as we have seen in some other good initiatives), in general, it is good to take the high road to any attacks that you will choose to address and it is usually best just to ignore attacks.

Additional Suggestions

  • Incorporate highly conscious practices into your participation in the challenge and do things like prayer circles, intention practices and other activities that will support the challenge from the spiritual and energetic realms.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT WANT ANYTHING LEAKED BEFORE OUR LAUNCH IF POSSIBLE – WE WANT TO CREATE A STRONG VIRAL PUSH DURING THE LAUNCH.

Timeline: From Now Until The Launch

August 2018

  • Join us for an optional support call August 1 from 12 pm – 1 pm Eastern Time.
  • We will provide all launch templates by mid-August.
  • Begin work on your organizational video(s) – make sure you keep these private and please upload them on our Private Facebook group (for benefiting nonprofits).

By September 20, 2018

  • We will provide you with our launch strategies.
  • Launch Preparation
    • Ensure your videos are ready for launch.
    • Ensure you have your celebrities lined up and ready.
    • Ensure your website, social media sites, email systems and staff are ready for launch.
    • Prepare all of your staff to take the challenge individually – posting a video, sharing and donating.
    • If you haven’t done this yet, you will want to look at activating whatever spiritual practices you find empowering to breathe life into the most positive intentions for the success of the challenge.

During Launch – Late September to Mid October (more detailed information will be provided as we get closer)

  • Email to your list of contacts.
  • Post on all social media.
  • Include our challenge in your press release.
  • Post at least one video of your org taking the challenge.
  • Post at least two videos involving famous people – ideally, these famous people participate in spreading the challenge and post themselves but if not you can post and share.
  • Invite your staff to individually post, share, record a video and donate as well.
  • Invite all of your members, supporters and followers to individually take the challenge.

What to Expect after Launch

  • The Ice Bucket Challenge reached $115 million in donations in 6 weeks in 2014. We have added several additional features to amplify the viral spread that was not in place for the Ice Bucket Challenge. So, it is our intention that by sometime in October we go massively viral.
  • However, it is not a problem if it takes longer to go viral. In this case, we will all want to continue to create and post videos, share on social media and send out additional emails if that makes sense. We will also want to continue to encourage celebrities to take the challenge since this is KEY to our success. It could take weeks or even a few months for the challenge to play out. We will distribute the funds raised to the nonprofit organizations after the challenge has run its course.

ROFL Challenge Video Filming Instructions

#1 Make Them Funny

Hilarious videos go viral so we encourage you to create videos that make you pee your pants a little

  • Film in landscape mode.
  • Make sure you are close enough for others to be able to read the ROFL DONATE sign.
  • Make sure the lighting and the sound quality are good.
  • Ideally, these videos are no longer than a minute but definitely no longer than 2 minutes unless doing something epic.
  • Please do make videos in all of the languages you are able to. And also please do be creative about what “rolling on the floor laughing” looks like.

#2 Before Filming Video

  • Create a sign using this photo as your guide
    (An unfolded manila file folder works well)

  • Familiarize yourself with scripts below and get comfortable generating it.
  • Think of the three people (or three organizations if you are doing an organization video) you will challenge to take the challenge after you.

#3 ROFL Video Script

There are two scripts – one for individuals and one for organizations. Each organization needs to do at least one video and encourage every person in your network to do an individual video as well.

INDIVIDUAL’S SCRIPT

  • HOLD up SIGN while you say:

I am “your name” in “location where you live” and I accept the Rolling on the Floor Laughing Challenge to Laugh, Give and Uplift the world!

  • Put sign down and then do the challenge by rolling on the floor laughing in infinitely creative ways and locations.
  • Then pick up sign again and HOLD it up while you say:

Now I’m going to text ROFL to 50155 or go to roflchallenge.org to give and I challenge X, Y and Z (name three specific people) to take the Rolling on the Floor Laughing Challenge to Laugh Give and Uplift the world.

ORGANIZATION’S SCRIPT

  • HOLD up SIGN while you say:

We are “your organizations name” in “location” and we accept the Rolling on the Floor Laughing Challenge to Laugh, Give and Uplift the world!

  • “Name of Organization” is very proud (or pleased) to be a benefiting organization in the Rolling on the Floor Laughing Challenge. We “explain your mission very briefly here.”
  • For example: The We Go High Project is very proud to be a benefiting organization in the Rolling on the Floor Laughing Challenge. We empower people to take the high road to a better world, using the best in each of us to create a better world for all of us!”
  • Put sign down and then do the challenge by rolling on the floor laughing in infinitely creative ways and locations.

  • Please use this draft invite – please click here (edit as you wish) to reach out to these folks.
  • The best case scenario is that they make a video and spread it to their networks (by far best) but even if you can get them to make a video, do accept and you can spread it in your network. Remember not to post the video on public platforms until launch.
